Mt. Biking: Around Felixstowe Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Sunny and hot :) Max Speed: Distance Covered: 11 miles (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Tuesday 23rd August – Bike **** Around Felixatowe – Walk *** Tunstall
Heath – sunny and hot :)
My Dad and Sister were coming over to Felixstowe to treat us to Fish and
Chips for lunch so we went out on our bikes early. We went to Landguard,
along the sea front and the ferry then home. 11 odd miles. Gorgeous
morning absolutely stunning skies, warm and calm. We also had the treat of
seeing an old barge – like we see on the canal du midi coming out of the
Deben, turning round and chugging back up river. Don’t know if it is a
houseboat from down the river having a ride out or what but it was a
beautiful sight – called Butterscotch. After a very tasty lunch Dad and
Sharon dropped us at home and we got the van ready to go away for a couple
of nights. We returned to our spot in Sangalls car park at Tunstall forest
which we visited last week to do the Viking Trail. It doesn’t take very
long to get ready so we were there by late afternoon. It is very hot today
so when we first arrived we read and relaxed. Around 7 we went for the
same walk as when we were here before. We chatted to an old man with his
dog for some of the way and it didn’t seem to take us anytime at all
whereas last week we thought it must be at least 3 miles – it was
actually only 1.7!!! Again, an absolutely gorgeous sky all streaky and
golden :) Nice evening – still very hot. Had a late tea and an early
night.
